Vermont is everywhere delicious! Four Columns, wonderful as always.
And a “works on paper” sort of weekend, quick portrait sketches with my available free models.

Good weekend trying new things, old things, and relishing an absolute lack of deadlines. This is oil paint on canvas paper approximately 7×9 inches. The model was mostly cooperative.

This piece, (oil on canvas, 11×14) begun in December? is likely finished – the onion “model” definitely is finished, although the aging process is interesting, rotting from inside and surprisingly not smelly.

WIP – And here is my first self-portrait I’ve done in a while. Starting this past weekend, using a single mirror – painting with the overhead lights out, I’ve set up for some dramatic chiaroscuro – and will take advantage on the still dark evenings.
I sent a few paintings to the trash heap and worked on cleaning the studio while I have paintings out at the Landau Gallery and at Canvas Fine Art.

In other news, studio neighbor Jeanne Finnerty of Finnerty Design borrowed 2 paintings for a show house.
