I shifted things around and got myself a functioning studio, just a little chilly in February – time to look into diy insulation.
Finished Wednesday morning, the West River from the dining room. Lush wet on wet oil paints using both brushes and palette knives. Oil on canvas, 11×14 inches.
First time out to paint this spring, trying out a newish easel at my favorite empty industrial park – yes, it’s 2020. Was close to finished and the wind blew everything over and smeared the painting. Nowhere to go but up! And good news? I can still zip up my painting jeans.
This painting has issues but I’ve got time. Uniquely for me, I’m working from memory (an absolutely gorgeous sunrise drive across the desert seared into my neurons) and a few very poor photos.
Come say hi!
Sharing my art with Tremont St passers-by in the display window at The South End Branch of the BPL. Thanks to the Marleen, Reinhold and Duncan for the opportunity and set-up assistance.
I’ll be at the Beacon Hill Holiday Fine Art and Craft Sale at Hill House – 127 Mt Vernon St, Beacon Hill, this Saturday and Sunday, November 17 & 18 from 10am – 5pm. Come say hi! Bring snacks?
It’s the busy season, and first up is the Fine Furnishings Show at the Waterfire Arts Center in Providence this weekend – and please stop by!
