Painting Through a Vermont Winter
I shifted things around and got myself a functioning studio, just a little chilly in February – time to look into diy insulation.
What’s on my easel, 12/9/20
Finished Wednesday morning, the West River from the dining room. Lush wet on wet oil paints using both brushes and palette knives. Oil on canvas, 11×14 inches.
1st time out for Plein Air is always . . . an event?
First time out to paint this spring, trying out a newish easel at my favorite empty industrial park – yes, it’s 2020. Was close to finished and the wind blew everything over and smeared the painting. Nowhere to go but up! And good news? I can still zip up my painting jeans.
Back to the studio – work in progress
This painting has issues but I’ve got time. Uniquely for me, I’m working from memory (an absolutely gorgeous sunrise drive across the desert seared into my neurons) and a few very poor photos.
