A gouache afternoon, covid continues
A quiet Saturday afternoon with my gouache and a handful of carnations. Nice to paint after all the ink drawings that I’ve been doing. In other living room/studio work, I’m taking tentative attempts with silver point and gessoing panels for using with my new acrylics that arrived this week.

Beginning: cyclamen
Scaling up to a 24×24 canvas. I want a bit more freedom & broad strokes that can come with this scale. I will be limited to just daytime painting to add a bit of backlight.
On the easel . . .
Lots of “painting it on” and “scraping it off” lately, with an orange bug brought back from Alamogordo NM.

Family time both in the southwest and in western NY. Even a High School reunion. My cultural life ranged from the Sante Fe Opera to the Alamogordo Community TheaterContinue reading “Almost 2 months, feels like years”
